“Online speculation is surging with claims that billionaires constructing doomsday bunkers are seemingly preparing for a scenario akin to World War III.”

Secret Bunkers

Lately, multiple news sources have covered the construction of a doomsday bunker within the Hawaii residence of META CEO Mark Zuckerberg. According to reports, the underground vault measures up to 5000 square feet, and the estimated cost of developing this bunker complex is around $270 million.

Following this news, assertions began circulating on various social media platforms, particularly X (formerly Twitter), suggesting that numerous other billionaires were covertly engaged in similar bunker-building endeavors.

An X user, identified by the handle @sirgoofy28, was among the initial individuals to assert such a claim. In his caption, he wrote, “Wait, 15 billionaires have built bunkers this week???” This post has garnered 11.9 million views so far, sparking online speculation about an impending apocalypse. Despite the significant attention, the rumor lacks confirmation from credible sources and has been debunked by community notes and readers’ context.

Nevertheless, this hasn’t deterred internet users from speculating about an imminent apocalyptic event. In this context, a user on X commented under @dom_lucre’s tweet.

As per Metro reports, Mark Zuckerberg is not the sole billionaire involved in constructing a doomsday bunker. PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel is purportedly seeking a permit to establish his own bunker-style lodge in South Island, New Zealand, which he plans to share with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, as disclosed by Komando.

Similarly, anticipating the absence of suitable living quarters on Mars, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and X, is reportedly considering the creation of his own version of a doomsday bunker.

In addition to these instances, it’s been reported that five other wealthiest individuals worldwide recently engaged in discussions with Douglas Rushkoff, a prominent author, theorist, and professor at the City University of New York. They allegedly expressed an anonymous interest in constructing an underground safe space as a contingency for an apocalypse.

Simultaneously, an X user, @dom_lucre, asserted in a post that President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden were in the process of developing a doomsday bunker on their Delaware property. As supporting evidence, he shared a screengrab of what he claimed to be a construction permit.

Secret Bunker

Despite the unfounded nature of the rumor suggesting that 15 billionaires have recently initiated bunker construction, online speculations about an impending doomsday have persisted. The conjectures range from concerns about biological warfare and the climate crisis to fears of nuclear warfare, alien invasion, and the potential for additional pandemics. Some individuals have gone so far as to predict the imminent arrival of World War III.

It’s worth noting that several companies are offering to construct doomsday bunkers for individuals with substantial wealth. Among these companies are Vivos, whose advertising slogan emphasizes being “away from riots, violence, targets, and submersion zones.” Another company, Oppidum, as mentioned by X user @dom_lucre, is reportedly building bunkers with a starting price of $40 million.

Additional names on the list include Rising S Bunkers, Kengo Kuma & Associates, and Survival Condo. According to Metro, these doomsday bunkers come with luxurious features, such as upscale interiors, pools, bowling alleys, smart kitchens, and living rooms, among other amenities.

As of now, none of the billionaires whose names have surfaced in connection with the alleged construction of doomsday bunkers, including Mark Zuckerberg, have issued any statements. The rumors and speculations circulating online have not been officially addressed or confirmed by the individuals involved. Until official statements are released, the information remains speculative and should be approached with caution.
